“The meaning of Banwol and Bakji Island”

- Because the shape of the island looks like a half moon, no matter where you look at it, it has been called Banwol(half moon in Korean) Island.
The highest peak on Banwol Island, is called Uhkkae(shoulder in Korean, also called Gyeonsan) mountain as its geographical feature looks like a human’s shoulder.

- Parkji Island is called Parkji-do because the Park clan is said to have lived there first. It is also called Bagi or Baegi Isalnd because its geographical feature looks like a gourd.
Mt. Bakjidang is called Dang mountain as there was a dang(temple in English) behind Bakijiri mountain.

“The 'Purple bridge' that connects 3 islands” (Anjwado Doori~Bakji Island~Banwol Island)

You can have a wonderful travel experience from island to island by walking on the sea thanks to the ‘Purple bridge(about 1,500m)’ that connects these islands.
Renting a bike or hiking on Banwol and Bakji Island is a great way to enjoy the coastal walkway along the beautiful sea around the islands.
